Executive Administration and Support Manager

The management of Oceangate, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Executive Assistant with strong background in managing executive level support functions as well as employee/staffing management. We are looking for a committed and competent individual with combination of strong organizational and professional project management skills who can work on multiple task and execute with precision and common sense.

As a leading marine technology company providing services around the world, our management team is constantly on the move. We operate both domestically and internationally and require support across all departments. Basic Requirements:

  • Current U.S. Citizenship and valid driver’s license (passport desired).
  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated competence and command in Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support CEO, COO and Department Directors in all forms of administrative assistance.

Expedition Manager

This is a unique opportunity to join an expedition company to conduct manned submersible expeditions to the Titanic shipwreck in 2019 and beyond, dive with sharks in the Bahamas, and explore the world’s oceans to depths of 4000 meters. This full-time position requires a blend of experience and/or ability to:

  • Help plan, organize, and lead submarine dive expeditions to explore unknown undersea sites with scientists, adventurers, and film makers.
  • Work with the crew, mission specialists and scientists to safely execute dive operations to achieve the mission objects.
  • Juggle competing demands of client expectations, safety, weather conditions, staffing, scientific objectives, budgets and other unknowns.
  • Create and maintain professional relationships with vendors, partners and supporters.
  • Make mission-critical decisions directly impacting mission accomplishment, client satisfaction, and personal safety.
  • Coordinate with the Mission Director and other senior staff to deploy marine assets, including surface vessels, submarines, and ROVs, as well as personnel and shore operations.
  • Be the primary liaison with participants, affiliates and sponsors at every stage of the expedition including planning and delivery of the crew experience before, during and after each expedition.
  • Coordinate the distribution of expedition updates, information, and gear to participants and affiliates.
  • Organize and participate in private client engagement events before, during and after each expedition.

Expedition Sales Manager

OceanGate seeks an Expedition Sales Manager to lead our sales and client engagement efforts with affluent individuals and affiliate partners. Our future expeditions include missions to the Titanic, The Bahamas, and others, to survey shipwrecks, explore hydrothermal vents, document the behavior of marine species, and much more. This position requires experience or a strong understanding of affluent adventure travel, private branded events, and specialty tourism program sales.

To achieve sales objectives, the successful candidate will:

  • Identify prospects and conduct outbound sales efforts including presenting proposals that lead to signed affiliate agreements and individual client commitments.
  • Manage individual and affiliate group sales from lead generation through payment.
  • Write and manage affiliate sales contracts and monitor progress toward sales goals.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to ensure that all affiliate marketing materials are consistent with the OceanGate brand and expedition messaging.
  • Travel as required to meet prospective clients, make presentations, develop a sales funnel, and manage client relationships.
  • Prepare professional sales presentations using standard electronic/digital software applications.
  • Develop and use analytical sales tools to track, manage and report the status of sales initiatives, sales funnel activities, and progress toward sales objectives.
  • Actively use Salesforce, Smartsheet, Nimble, or other CMS tools to maintain a complete database of contacts, leads, prospects and clients.

This position requires that you be self-directed, professional, and flexible with a positive attitude and willingness to work in a small, close-knit team environment with tight deadlines and fixed schedules. To succeed in this position you will:

  • Have sales experience in the travel industry or expedition programs (required).
  • Work in a dynamic office environment using standard office word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications.
  • Manage time and projects efficiently with the ability to prioritize competing tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines – while working independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Write professional correspondence and speak effectively and professionally to clients, vendors, sponsors and crew.

Shop Technician

The management of Oceangate, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Shop Technician to help manage our expanding workload. We are looking for a committed and competent individual with the combination of strong mechanical and interpersonal skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-energy professional who is interested in a long-term position with a growing company.

Requirements

  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical systems, Electronics, Hydraulics, Oxygen Systems and Pneumatics.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in fabrication of Metal structures, Hydraulic systems, and Pneumatic systems.
  • Forklift, crane, and rigging experience.
  • Mechanically inclined with proven experience using wide array of power and hand tools.
  • Clean driving record and demonstrated competence in backing bumper hitched dual or triple axle trailers to launch marine vessels.
  • Can demonstrate basic seamanship and safe operation of small boats.

  • Class A or B CDL.
  • Experience working on large commercial vessels.
  • Open Water SCUBA certification.

Key Accountabilities

  • Fabricate and install mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, oxygen and pneumatic devices components onto submersibles and support vessels.
  • Maintain submersibles and various support vessels to ensure all systems are in complete working order and in compliance with all technical requirements.
  • Execute the planned maintenance of submersible systems and maintain complete technical records and logs.
  • Follow established shop checklists and operating procedures.
  • Carrying out general shop operations team duties as required.

Submersible Pilot Marine Technician

The management of Oceangate, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Sub Pilot/Marine Technician to help manage and operate our fleet of manned submersibles and support vessels. We are looking for a committed and competent individual with combination of strong mechanical and interpersonal skills who can work on sensitive marine equipment, perform regular maintenance and operate complex systems to support dive operations (this is not an ocean sciences or marine research position). This is an excellent opportunity for a high-energy professional who is interested in a long-term position with a growing company.

The successful candidate will be self-driven, flexible, positive, and willing to work in a small, close-knit team environment; must have the drive to follow through on tasks and be goal-oriented. Competitive salary and benefits/medical package.

Requirements

  • Have current U.S. Citizenship and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in confined space, fit through 28” diameter ring and be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience operating submersible vehicles (manned and unmanned).
  • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office and experience with hydrographic survey and charting software packages, including Hypack/Hysweep.
  • Demonstrated competence in operation of half-duplex communication devices.
  • Experience operating small boats and working on large commercial vessels.
  • Demonstrate basic seamanship and safe operation of small boats.
  • Able to travel for domestic and foreign work, approx. 20% of the year or as required.
  • Willingness and ability to work offshore for weeks at a time as required.

  • Physically fit and enjoy working outside in variable weather conditions.
